The Mechanisms Of VasoDilatation/Endothelium-Dependent Hyperpolarization symposia have a long history, dating back to the late 1970s. They have been held all over the world. The last 2 meetings were held in Rochester, MN, USA (MOVD2016, organized by Virginia Miller) and Odense, Denmark (EDH2015, organized by Jo De Mey), respectively.
In 2019 the 2 meetings will be merged (under the name MOVD/EDH2019) and we will have a joint session in Rotterdam, The Netherlands from 20-22 May, 2019.
There will be 6 named lectures:
- Robert F. Furchgott Lecture (endothelium)
- John T. Shepherd Lecture (nervous control)
- Björn Folkow Lecture (growth and remodeling)
- David F. Bohr Lecture (vascular smooth muscle)
- Paul M. Vanhoutte Lecture (vascular pathophysiology)
- Tudor Griffith Lecture (EDH)
In addition, we will have symposia on gender-related issues (how to deal with this in (preclinical) research?), ageing and preeclampsia/VEGF inhibition.
The meeting will support 3 young investigators who have submitted an abstract with a travel grant of 500 euro + free registration. In addition, DaCRA (the Danish Cardiovascular Research Academy) will sponsor 3 early career scientists from Danish institutions with a travel grant of 5000 DKK. For more information and conditions about the awards and BCPT Grant for Nordic authors see the Abstracts page.
The organizing committee consists of Paul Vanhoutte, Jo De Mey, Brant Isakson, Ulf Simonsen and Jan Danser (Chair).
We look forward to welcoming you all to Rotterdam in 2019!
